This article is dedicated to exploring the potential of design thinking to develop creativity, problem-solving skills, teamwork, and reflection among elementary school students. The research methodology incorporates a learner-centered, competency-based, and axiological approach. Using scientific analysis, theoretical comparison, systematization, and conceptual modeling, the study examined the professional preparation of future elementary school teachers and the process of competency development based on national education. The findings demonstrated that the design thinking method effectively enhances students’ engagement, independent thinking, and social skills. Furthermore, comparison with international and national experiences confirmed the pedagogical and practical significance of the method.
